Every year V-Day Humboldt works with the community to select a beneficiary for our events. Criteria includes helping women and girls in the Humboldt area by preventing violence and encouraging healing and empowerment. Our curent and previous beneficiaries include:
North Star Quest Camp is a 5 day overnight camp for girls in 6th-8th grade. It's a time for girls to discover themselves, encouraging empowerment, strength, and a sense of community. Workshops and activities for this year are still in the works. Some things they've done before: Belly dancing, songwriting, yoga, self defense, clowning, healthy relationships, messages of the "media," women's health, poetry, trust games, nutrition, mask making, and fun surprises.
A grass roots, local non-profit organization offering services for healing from trauma.
"Our mission is to provide long term, integrated healing services in a safe, empowering environment for any woman who has experienced trauma."
